In James 1:5 the Bible says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach.”
How awesome is that! Generously AND without reproach!

Notice that the verse starts out with the words, “if any of you lacks wisdom.” Let’s stop right there. Notice the verse doesn’t say, “only after you have said ten Hail Marys,” or “only priests and ministers,” or “only those found worthy may ask for wisdom.”
No, it states quite clearly that “if any [anyone at any time] … lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Herein lies our first glimpse into God’s character.
God gives to all men, generously and without reproach.
Without reproach means without criticism and without accusation. Sweet!
I think James chose these words carefully, knowing that most folks would rather pass on asking for wisdom, or anything for that matter, if they thought they would be reprimanded for previous bad decisions or accused of not being worthy enough in the first place.
So what do God and Google have in common?
Like God, an Internet search gives to all men generously and without reproach.
Neither the Internet nor God judges your worthiness to begin a search for knowledge. On the net, you simply type a question or begin a phrase and click ‘go.’
To ask God for insight into understanding wisdom more deeply, all we have to do is ask.
No typing and no Wi-Fi required.
How awesome is that?!
